Cookies and browser storage
This notice explains how Random 42 uses cookies and browser storage, and how you can manage them in your browser.
Last updated: August 26, 2026
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website or service stores in your browser. Local storage is another browser feature used to remember information on your device. Tool entries and results are not stored in cookies or local storage by Random 42. Google Analytics may use cookies to measure visits to website pages.
How browser storage is used
| Category | Use | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Tool entries and results | Not stored in cookies or local storage | They remain in the open tool until you refresh or close it. |
| Google Analytics 4 | Loaded on website pages | Measures page visits. It may set _ga and _ga_S3DGT082Z8 cookies, which Google documents with a default expiration of up to two years. A tool visit is measured once from its main page; names, settings, and results are not sent as custom analytics events. |
| Advertising | Not currently used | Random 42 does not currently load advertising cookies or advertising services. |
| Website delivery and security | May be used when necessary | Cloudflare may use essential cookies or storage to deliver and protect the website. |
Google Analytics 4
Google Analytics 4 loads when you open a Random 42 website page and may use cookies or similar browser identifiers to measure page visits. Names, lists, settings, and generated results are not sent as custom analytics events. Browser settings may shorten the lifetime of analytics cookies.
The Cookie settings link in the footer opens this notice. Use your browser settings or privacy tools if you want to inspect, block, or clear analytics cookies and other site data.
Advertising cookies
Random 42 does not currently use advertising cookies or load advertising services. If advertising or another non-essential technology is introduced, this notice will be updated and consent or opt-out controls will be provided where required.
Manage cookies and site data
Most browsers let you inspect, block, or clear cookies and local storage. Blocking all browser storage may affect security or access features provided by hosting and security services. Refreshing or closing a Random 42 tool clears the names, choices, settings, and results in that tool.
If you find a cookie or browser storage item that is not explained here, send its name, the page URL, and the time you observed it through thecontact page. Do not include names, lists, results, or other information entered into a tool.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated when the use of cookies or browser storage changes. Any updated notice will be published on this page. See theprivacy notice for more information about how Random 42 handles information.
