Random tools for events and live rooms

Prepare a draw, choose a participant, set a running order, or divide a room without handing the source list to an online event platform. Random 42 supports the mechanics; the organizer remains responsible for eligibility, consent, and the rules of the event.

Tools for this scenario

Every link below opens a working tool. Ideas still being designed stay out of navigation until their workflow is ready.

What you can solve here

JOB 01

Choose a name or winner

Use a picker for an informal selection and a raffle workflow when prizes, multiple winners, or no-repeat results need to be explicit.

JOB 02

Set the order of a live program

Shuffle speakers, demos, performers, or agenda items into a sequence that can be copied into a run sheet.

JOB 03

Break a room into smaller units

Create teams or pairs for an icebreaker, workshop, community session, or collaborative event activity.

Write the event rule before pressing the button

A participant picker, a raffle, and a presentation order may all begin with names, but they answer different questions. Decide whether entries can repeat, whether someone must be present, how many winners exist, and what happens if a result cannot be accepted.

The current service can produce a session result, not a third-party verified draw. It does not supply signed timestamps, public audit records, ticket sales, social-platform imports, or a legal determination that a promotion is compliant.

Three working principles

  1. Freeze eligibility first

Clean the entry list and document who is included before the draw. Randomness cannot repair an inconsistent eligibility rule.

  2. Explain redraws in advance

Decide how absence, duplicate entries, declined prizes, or an invalid result will be handled before an audience sees the outcome.

  3. Do not call a session draw verified

A browser result without a trusted service, signature, and public record is useful for an event but not independently tamper-proof.
